Approaching 50 Years of Old-World Skill, Ultra-High Manual Precision & Attention to Detail – Evolving Through Continuous Improvement & Mastery of Cutting-Edge Technology:
- 1965 – Future founder & current leadership begins precision manufacturing career with Marposs (White Plains, NY) developing high-precision gaging & measurement solutions for discrete and standard product manufacturers
- 1978 – Founded MG Industries, serving nationally-based clients with customized, modified, after-markets with custom gaging contacts & tools for specialized applications (link to customized gaging products & solutions)
- 1980 – Founded D-tron, a manufacturer of ‘pick & place’ robotics solutions
- 1982 – Renamed custom gaging contacts & tools division to Gaging Technologies, Inc., forming 2 sides of our evolving business & markets service
- 1986 – Moved into current facility, establishing single business unit – GTI, and consolidated organization into a single business unit
- 1994 – Purchased first Wire EDM with PC for control to add to manual precision milling, drilling and machining; Second generation joins GTI on shop floor and management role
- 1996 – First 5-axis machining center purchased, evolving expertise to higher precision & cutting-edge quality and tolerances
- 2000 – First CNC, high-tolerance, 5-axis long-term contract for Aerospace industry
- 2001 – Initial high-end CAD/CAM software & training investment (CATIA)
- 2002 – Laser manufacturing capability added
- 2003 – First contracts for the Fiber Optics & Telecom industries secured
- 2003 – Initial contracts for BioMed/Cryogenics applications secured and completed
- 2003 – Won and secured first Satellite/EMS industry contract
- 2003 – ISO-9001 certification acquired
- 2005 – Purchased first Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) & established advanced Quality & Inspection program and protocols
- 2005 – Added 3-axis machining center and CNC lathe (CNC Turning) capabilities
- 2005 – Secured first International Defense industry contracts, including 200+ unique complex geometry discrete parts
- 2007 – Significant Aerospace Structural (Aero-Structure) Long-Term Agreement (LTA) secured, requiring consistently high-tolerance adherence in a high-production environment
- 2009 – AS9100 certification acquired
- 2009 – 5-Axis, larger parts 3-Axis & Mill-Turn technologies all updated
- 2011 – New Agie/Charmilles wire EDM acquired and installed
